Visitors to the JetBrains website (www.jetbrains.com) or www.intellij.com discovered a whole new look and feel to the site today. Reaction to the new design has come quickly from many quarters around the globe as JetBrain’s customers awoke and came on line to see what’s new.
“Hauntingly familiar,” said Isadore Aupen, a Java developer at Buggladen Systems of Kleiner Fleck, Austria. Terri Fyde, project manager for OKCorral CRM products at Shudemuppe Software of Tuscon, Arizona USA, concurred.
“It’s like deja vu, you know?” she said. “Like coming back to some place you’ve been before but you can’t remember for the life of you why you ever would have gone there.”
José Canusi of Moron Tecnológico in Mentiras, Spain expressed ambivalence.
“Well, it’s OK, I guess,” he said. “You can find everything OK, but it’s, well, how shall I say, it’s just there.”
Phil Maglasse of Backbiter Technologies, and Jimmy Dadore of of Cellblock Networks critized the move in strong terms.
Said Backbiter, “As a designer for political campaign software I really dislike this. What’s happened to their crack team of tasteful designers? I mean, those guys were really good, you know? We stole a lot… I mean, their designs have been very influential for us in the past.”
“You know what I think?” said Dadore. “I think this “new”design just might have been pirated from somewhere. I’m not makin’ any accusations or anything, but it sure reminds me a whole lot of… well, I better not say.”
JetBrains executives were not available for comment at presstime.
